SEVEN THINGS EVERY TEENAGER MUST KNOW ABOUT JESUS

  1. HE WANTS TO BE YOUR FRIEND: Jesus said told me that He has invited you to be His friend a lot of times in different ways. He said I should tell you this; “…and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.” John 6:37 NIV A friend is someone who loves you and who you can trust, whom you interact with and who adds value to your life. You can have such a relationship with Jesus Christ. He can be trusted, He is always faithful, and He offers great promises to those who are His friends.
  2.
  3. YOU MUST CONNECT WITH HIM: What you need in order to connect to Jesus is your Heart and Mind. Just see what He said Jesus replied , “All those who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and live with them” (John 14:23)
  4.
  5. YOU MUST HONOUR HIM: Friendship with Jesus is different from friendship with your friends. It is a unique friendship. This is because, though He may be your friend, He is not your mate. He is the Lord but He loves you. He will be your friend only if you will trust Him and will allow Him to be the leader in the relationship because He knows all things and has the power to do all things, but He only does good things.
  6.
  7. THERE ARE REQUIREMENTS: Friendship with Him, though having several advantages, has some requirements. It is important for you to know the steps to take in order to be His friend. First, you have to know who Jesus really is. He Jesus lived and died and he rose from the dead and is alive forever. It is only those who invite Him into their lives that will experience His being alive. Also, He loves honest people who can tell the truth about themselves. People who honestly tell Him and the Heavenly Father that they have done things that you know are wrong. He calls those things sin. The Bible tells us that; “Everyone have sinned...” And that makes Jesus Christ and our heavenly Father sad.
  8.
  9. YOU MUST RESPOND TO HIS LOVE: Have you noticed that each time you do something you know is wrong, you feel horrible inside especially the first time you do it? That is your conscience. It is the ’meter’ God put inside you telling you that you are hurting your heart and mind (H&M) by committing sin. That cuts you out of Jesus’ friendship and It becomes hard for the heavenly Father to also communicate with you. God sent Jesus to clean the filth of sin from you. He is an expert that mends a damaged H&M and makes it possible for you to connect with God. The heavenly Father said that the only thing that removes the power of sin from a person and also cleanses human beings from all the sin of the past is the invisible blood of Jesus. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9 NKJV)
  10.
  11. CALL ON HIM IN PRAYERS: So, for you to be made clean by God, you must tell God you are sorry for your sins and ask Him to cleanse you with the blood of Jesus Christ. Then, tell the Heavenly Father that you want to belong to Him. Ask Him to give you a new heart and mind (H&M) so that you can become a friend of Jesus Christ and also become one of the Children of God. When you talk to God and you mean what you say then you are praying. Pray these prayers sincerely from your heart, He will answer your requests and make you His child. Then you can begin a walk of close friendship with Jesus Christ and the Heavenly Father. Pause at this point and pray before you read on.
  12.
  13. THE PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I want to become your friend. I am sorry that I have been committing sin, and now I know that because you love me, you have not been happy because of my sin. Father, please forgive me all my sins and let the blood of Jesus Christ wash me from all my sins. Give me a new heart that loves God. Lord Jesus Christ, please come into my heart and change me and become my Lord and saviour. I believe that you died for my sins, you rose again from the dead and you are alive to be my living and loving friend. I love you Jesus for saving me and I thank you so much. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
